YOGA CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Fundamentals of Alignment - Mild

Yoga fundamentals provides both the beginning student and the seasoned practitioner a place to focus on common postures and transitions, that lay the foundation for your yoga practice. Classes will focus on alignment and will include accessible strength building exercises to prepare the muscles for the intensity of the major yoga asanas included in a vinyasa flow class. The fundamentals of the physical poses are supplemented with the philosophy and energetic principles of yoga. You don't need to be able to touch your toes in this class… all you need is an open mind & heart.

Flow 1  - Mild

This practice combines vinyasa sequences interspersed with longer stretches and resting poses while using the breath as a tool to remain present and mindful. Students will experience less vigor in this class than in other flow classes, while being offered more movement than purely restorative and yin practices. This class is suitable for practitioners with a basic foundation in yoga postures, and is especially recommended for those seeking for a slower pace of yoga while continuing to flow.

Yin and Restorative Yoga - Mild

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses that are held for longer periods of time—five minutes per pose is typical. The long held postures allow the connective tissue (ligaments, tendons, joints, and fascia) to strengthen and release. This is the perfect complimentary practice to any strength building or cardio exercise as well as an active Yang or vinyasa practice. It is also great for anyone recovering from injury or illness and pre or post -natal.  We pair the yin practice with stress-melting restorative poses using props such as bolsters and straps to help you release deeply and comfortably into stillness. This class takes is a more meditative approach to yoga, aimed at cultivating awareness of inner silence.

Undo and Renew - Mild

A super gentle class that provides an opportunity for profound relaxation and healing. Poses are typically held for 5-20 minutes in a fully supported and nurturing way using several props. Great for those looking to relax, renew, restore and heal. Those with injuries and other physical limitations are welcome to join this practice. That feeling right after a good savasana? That’s the feeling of the whole class. Come and experience it for yourself!

Flow 2 - Medium

An energetic form of yoga where we fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting breath to movement. A well-rounded class that incorporates regular sequences familiar in Hatha and Ashtanga yoga. We will begin with a joint-releasing warm up, build heat and flow, move through standing poses, heart openers, core work, then have a cool down with some deep stretching and end in a juicy savasana. This is an open level class suitable for all - modifications and adjustments are offered so that beginner to intermediate students feel supported and challenged.

Yin and Yang Yoga - Medium

This class balances the desire to energize and restore in one hour session. The practice begins with an energizing and uplifting vinyasa flow (the YANG) where we build heat and move through sun salutations. Interspersed between peak sequences are held poses, long, deep introspective stretches (the YIN) to penetrate deeply into connective tissue expanding flexibility and cultivating a sense of quiet, leaving you feeling relaxed and replenished at the end.

Ashtanga Led - Medium

Ashtanga Yoga is designed to gradually open up the body and deepen the breath through a intelligently sequenced series of set postures that move along at a steady pace. In this modified primary series, the instructor leads you through a vigorous, modified version of most of the primary series. There are variations to help with individual needs as well as to protect the hamstrings and knees.

Flow 3 - Spicy

Take your vinyasa practice to the next level with this powerful flow class. Classes incorporate intermediate postures, challenging transitions and introduce advanced sequencing into inversions and arm balances. All the while linking every movement with one single breath, you will strengthen both body and mind in this quick moving, cardio-based class. Suitable for those who would like to deepen their practice and explore more playful and challenging asanas.

2-Hour Master Class - Spicy

This long-format 120 minute class allows us time to move through all the elements of a complete yoga practice. We will start in seated meditation followed by pranayama (breath work), enjoy a full body warm up before transitioning into a rockin' hour of creative flows. Expect to play with some deeper stretches, arm balances and inversions. The last half hour we'll have a blissful cool down followed by a long savasana or guided yoga nidra. Requires 2 class passes or $22 drop in.

Mat Pilates
Partly inspired by Yoga, Pilates is a series of exercises performed using gravity and your own body weight to provide resistance. Each exercise has a prescribed placement, rhythm and breathing pattern. The main aim is to condition the deeper, supporting muscles of your body to improve posture, balance and coordination. Pilates classes build strength, develop flexibility, muscular endurance and good posture.

Total Body Sculpt

Total Body Sculpt will tone muscle, build strength, increase stamina and keep your heart in top condition. In just 45 mins you will work all your major muscle groups and because the exercises are all body weight or free weight based, tons of smaller supporting muscles are utilized constantly, giving you better results in less time. No two workouts are the same so you will never get bored and your body is constantly challenged. The rounds are timed leaving you to work at your own pace so the workout is suitable for all fitness levels.
